The idea of starting Kilema College of Health Sciences was born for the first time by the Rt. Rev. Bishop Isaack Aman – Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Moshi in the year 2010. On 4/4/2013 Kilema Hospital Management Team (Dr. Ignace Massawe, Sr. Ludovicka Mushi and Sr. Charles Lwanga) met with a Laboratory expert by the name Maulidi Marawi for the first time to discuss the possibility of establishing such a College for Para-medics. Ultimately it was unanimously agreed to start with a School of Medical Laboratory Technology under the umbrella of Kilema College of Health Sciences.
On Sept 23rd ,2013 the College was given Provisional Registration status by the National Council for Technical Education Ref.No NACTE/BA/278/394/605/VOL.1/10. Our Provisional Registration No is REG/HAS/129P for training medical laboratory Technicians and Technologists at Certificate and Diploma levels. Our strategic plans for the next 5-20 years are multivarious. We intend to establish schools for Pharmacy, Clinical Officers and Dentistry at Certificate and Diploma levels.
Lastly but not the least, we hope to initiate a Kilema University College under an autonomous University as time shall dictate. We invite people of good will to assist us in educating our poor students who are academically excellent but financially paralyzed.
